Sonaris

Mkr7, the very first of Dimitri’s Mkr series to be fully functional and not become a mutated heap of rejected twisted metal and pulsating organs. As Dimitri himself has admitted, the serial number of Mkr7 is inconvenient and cumbersome to refer to something, and thus gave a name to his creation; Sonaris.

Whereas Sonaris overcame a rather grotesque fate, he turned out to be quite the handsome young man. Standing tall over all people, save for the basketball players at a staggering 7 feet. His skin is slightly darker than most people giving him a slightly exotic look. Though Sonaris will not admit to it, it is somewhat obvious to what he holds as a vanity piece on his figure, his hair. Being long overdue for a much needed trim, Sonaris sports bangs that go down to his neck as well as his trademarked ponytail that reaches down to his waist, a heap of black jet hair that he is fond of (it also appears to be fire proof, some believe that his hair can even convey his current emotions at the time). For the most part he is seen in his suit of royal blue armor, on his right forearm is a menacing cannon fashioned in the shape of a wolf. Strapped to his back and sides he has his precious katana swords. The weapons he sports are minimal and simplistic but as Sonaris himself will proudly boast, he is a true master of the art of combat, he has all he needs to dominate the battlefield.

Sonaris’ history is one that is colourful and beautiful in its tragedy. In the beginning Sonaris’ mentality was that of a child as he ‘grew up’, and with Dimitri as the sole fatherly figure it can not lead to a proper childhood. Sonaris matured cognitively, and then found himself questioning his purpose, to terraform the surface for Dimitri. There had to be more in life than what Dimitri told him there was, after all he had never even seen the ‘outside world’ that Dimitri spoke of. Sonaris then took it on himself to learn about what resided outside of the laboratory walls. At first with books he smuggled in underneath the awareness of his ‘father’ and eventually Sonaris ventured out to a city to witness humanity. In that journey Sonaris marvelled at the human will. Watching people fight and struggle to carry on in life, to bear through the unbearable, all to find their rightful place in the big wide world. Sonaris believed that he could bear through Dimitri’s reign a bit longer, a bit more and he would find himself, he knew he could do it, so many humans did, he could bear his burden for just awhile longer as well.

However, when Sonaris was sent to commence his terraforming he soon came to realize it meant to kill the humans he admired. In one attempt to put his will to the test, Sonaris did what he could, committing sin after sin as he sent lives one by one to the afterlife. Ultimately, he could not take it any longer, crashing down to his bloody knees and breaking down mentally, he could not take the senseless bloodshed.

In the aftermath of his breakdown, Dimitri toyed with what to do with the inevitable failure that was Mkr7. Ultimately Dimitri kept Sonaris around, not because he had hopes that he would redeem himself, but because of his intelligence, Sonaris made a great lab assistant. And that was what he was from then on, left wishing to redeem himself to Dimitri after the incident. From then Sonaris did all he could to do just that, though his efforts were ultimately futile since Dimitri had already given up on him. From then on Sonaris did all that Dimitri asked of him, to carry out his terraforming, even after the lab was destroyed.

When the lab was destroyed, Sonaris became lost, he had no idea of what his purpose in life was anymore. Really he had never truly known anything more than what Dimitri presented, and thus he found himself as Dimitri’s successor. Sonaris ultimately ended up as the person he wished he would not become. Sonaris was soon carrying out Dimitri’s old objectives, Sonaris then seeking to increase his strength and mechanical minions to do just that. A sad thing, for genius to find itself lost and misguided. To be in doubt, and never to be resolved, in a perpetual state of searching for one’s true purpose, their rightful place in the world, behind the newly formed sinister smirk, is the child still there?

Sonaris stays with Maria Curatio at the moment, living a relatively quiet life. He works as a on-call mechanic mostly he has hung up his swords, rarely fighting. But Sonaris still battles against whoever he marks as an enemy. Be it the Shadow Council or someone he believes is doing harm, Sonaris has not forgotten his roots.
