The Myreison High Council
was the ruling body of the Myreison people shortly for what could be
described as an eternity. The council was formed by the five
strongest Myreisons, they were not chosen however. They proved their
strength by beating the competition and silencing those that would
oppose them. The five of them controlled the entirety of the
Myreison race with an iron fist. They promoted the idea of elitism
and superiority over the Kanyerid race. Because of this it sparked a
great conflict between the two races, eventually breaking out into a
full scale war.
The
Council was comprised of the Chancellor; the one who was the
strongest of them all. Along with him were four other members that
would discuss and deal punishment upon those that stepped out of
line.
To
better regulate the behavior of the Myreison people they sought out
specific characteristics in certain Myreisons; the ability to
foretell the future. Once in every few thousand Myreisons made, one
will develop such an ability. They would be taken away from their
home and given a seat with the Council, across from the Chancellor.
For the rest of their unnaturally long lives they would serve the
Council in detecting and predicting any and all possible causes of
danger to the status quo.
In
the starting years of the Myreison civilization the Council had
difficulty controlling the masses, as many Myreisons were still
trying to prove that they were the strongest. The Council required a
way to scare the entire race into obedience, and one day their
prophet was able to locate just such a way.
The
prophet saw that one of the scientists who ‘discovered’ had
interloped with a Kaneryid woman. Normally it would have been of no
consequence, but at the time a civil war erupted between the
Kaneryid and the Myreisons. The scientist would prove to be a good
way to show that no one was exempt from being punished.
The
scientist was found and punished heavily, his fiancé was killed and
the scientist himself was thrown away into a dungeon. The Chancellor
then addressed all people that everyone was expendable, and
proceeded to slay more of their own people. Though barbaric, it had
worked, the message was delivered and the Myreisons came to accept
the Council as their governing body.
However, one of the punishments the Council dealt out would come
back with the force of a hurricane. Smiting the scientist Dimitri
would eventually result in him singlehandedly ending the Myreison
war, in favor of the Kaneryid.
Due
to the drastic change in the war’s outcome, the Myreison race was
forced underground, and the Council was left with no choice but to
appoint Dimitri as their new prophet, or else he would continue
causing trouble.
Eons
later, and ironically, it was due to Dimitri’s assistance that the
Council was at the peak of its power. Having almost secured the
surface world once again, they would however be knocked out of
power by Dimitri. A bit of divine retribution that would result in
two of the Council Members to be killed.
The
remaining three members, Dante, Sirius, and Madam DeMonte would go
into hiding, taking with them the Myreisons loyal to the old ways.
The three of them would then form a new organization, the Shadow
Council.
They
would attempt to reclaim the surface world for the Myreison race
from the human beings and the traitorous Dimitri that stole their
glory. The Shadow Council advocates all of the old beliefs of
elitism and domination. However, their actions are much more direct
as they try direct attacks against humanity and Dimitri’s new
regime. |
